Larry Reed, Bassoon
Larry Reed received his musical education at the University of Oklahoma, Indiana University in Bloomington, and the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He has performed extensively as a bassoonist with the Oklahoma Symphony and the Oklahoma City Philharmonic for over 30 years. He has also performed as principal bassoonist with the Lawton Philharmonic, the Waco (Texas) Symphony, the Plattville (Wisconsin) Symphony, and the Enid-Phillips Symphony, as well as other performances with the Austin Symphony, the Aspen Festival Orchestra and the Wichita Symphony. In addition, he has performed frequently as a pit musician in summer theatre productions at Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma City. Larry was the Instructor of Bassoon at Baylor University from 1975-1979. From 2000-2003, he served as Instructor of Bassoon at Oklahoma City University. He has also been a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch in Oklahoma City for over 25 years.
