Brightmusic Society of Oklahoma Elects Three New Directors

The Brightmusic Society of Oklahoma – Oklahoma City’s own chamber music ensemble -- is proud to announce the election of three new members of its Board of Directors: Andrew B. Peterson, Deborah Senner and Kip Welch.

 

Andy Peterson is an intellectual property attorney in the law firm of McAfee & Taft, Oklahoma City’s largest law firm. He received undergraduate degrees in biochemistry and Spanish from the University of Oklahoma, where he also received his law degree summa cum laude. Between college and law school, Andy taught introductory Spanish at the University of Oklahoma and served as the director for the University of Oklahoma Modern Languages Learning Center.

 

Deborah McAuliffe Senner is the President of Allied Arts, one of the leading nonprofit cultural organizations in Central Oklahoma. Originally from Tulsa, she has lived in Oklahoma City most of her life. She received her degrees from St. Gregory’s University and Benedictine College in Kansas, where she double-majored in communications and theatre. An accomplished fundraiser of 15 years, she has raised millions of dollars for the arts, social services, education and faith-based organizations. She has worked for Allied Arts in various roles, most recently as Vice President, until being named President on July 1, 2009.

 

Kip Welch is the Director of Recruitment at Chesapeake Energy Corporation. He has worked in the recruitment industry for more than 20 years for companies that include Starbucks Coffee and Cingular Wireless.  Kip’s interest in music began in his home state of Arkansas, where he studied piano from childhood through college and sang in a men’s chorus that performed in venues including Carnegie Hall.  Kip attended Hendrix College and has lived and worked in Dallas, San Francisco and is now very proud to call Oklahoma City his home.  In addition to Brightmusic, Kip also serves on the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestra.
