Lisa Harvey-Reed, Oboe

Lisa Harvey-Reed is the principal oboist of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic as well as longtime principal oboist of the Lawton Philharmonic. She has served as Instructor of Oboe at the Oklahoma City University Wanda L. Bass School of Music for over 20 years, and she also maintains a private oboe studio. Statewide, she has also performed with the Tulsa Symphony, as principal oboist with the Enid Symphony and as a member of the Brightmusic chamber group of Oklahoma City. She is an active freelance musician in the Oklahoma City area.
Ms. Harvey-Reed has served as principal oboist with the Utica Symphony and in the new music ensemble “sfz”, and she was the oboist in the Minnesota Wind Soloists quintet. She has also performed with the Evansville Philharmonic. Summer festival performances include the Duncan Music Festival, Sommerfest in her native Minnesota, the New Hampshire Music Festival, and the prestigious Festival of Two Worlds in Charleston, SC and Spoleto, Italy. She has previously taught at the MacPhail Center for the Arts, a satellite school for the University of Minnesota.
Ms. Harvey-Reed received a Bachelor of Music in Oboe Performance at Indiana University, where she studied with the late Jerry Sirucek, formerly of the Chicago Symphony. She completed a Master of Music in Oboe Performance at the University of Oklahoma, and she has also studied with Carl Holub, formerly of the Minnesota Orchestra. She lives in Norman with her husband and two daughters.
